Foxborough's Open Space and Recreation Plan
The Foxborough Open Space and Recreation Plan Committee (OSRPC) is pleased to announce that on July 8, 2011, the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEOEA) conditionally approved Foxborough's Draft 2011-2018 Open Space and Recreation Plan (OSRP).
According to Melissa Cryan (the State's Grants Manager and OSRP reviewer), she rarely issues OSRP approval letters, but usually issues conditional approval letters that require the submission of additional information before a final approval will be issued. The OSRPC is proud to announce that Foxborough's Open Space and Recreation Plan's conditional approval required only a short list of five items that needed to be addressed (for final approval). Ms Cryan's letter states:
"This plan was particularly thorough and has been conditionally approved through July 2018. Conditional approval will allow the town to participate in DCS grant rounds through July 2018, and a grant award may be offered to the town."
"Congratulations on a great draft plan!"
Paper copies of the draft plan (also downloadable above) are available for review at the Boyden Library, the Recreation Department’s office at 80 South Street and at the following Town Hall offices at 40 South Street: Conservation Commission, Planning Department and Town Clerk. After the Plan has been finalized, it will be distributed to the above locations and this page's links will be updated.
The OSRPC gratefully acknowledges the efforts of all who participated in its creation, and encourage a thorough reading of its pages to ensure it truly reflects the objectives and direction set forth by residents and town boards and committees. Through these efforts of visioning and leadership, we will be able to sustain the excellent quality of life in Foxborough that we desire for ourselves and future generations.
