Dear Foxborough Resident       

Our "Pay As You Throw" Trash/Recycling Program is open to single family and 3 unit or less apartment residences. Cost of the service is $160 per year billed semi-annually at $80 per six month cycle.  $80 is the cost to participate for any fraction of a six month cycle of the program.  If payment is not received when due, the account will be put on Stop Service Status.  Please read our Trash Fee Policy for more details.
 
To participate in this program you need to call the Highway Department, Trash/Recycling line @ 1-508-543-1224   
It is your responsibility to notify us of any changes so service will not be interrupted.

Trash barrels and loose items need special tags that can be purchased for a nominal fee at local stores. For small amounts of trash, special bags may be used instead. If you have any questions on what to put curbside call 508-543-1224.     

IMPORTANT       

Barrels over 32 gallons require TWO tags on the handle.  (weight limit 50lbs)
Trash and recycling must be curbside by 7AM and properly tagged.
DO NOT put recycling in plastic bags.
NO CONSTRUCTION  material accepted.
                                                  
REGULAR TRASH PICKUP   (limit 1 item)     

The following items may also be put out with your regular trash:

Bathtubs, sinks, and toilets (porcelain/plastic)  -  1 tag
Furniture  -  1 tag  (couches, chairs, bureaus)  
Latex Paint  -  can be solidified and put in your trash.

Mattresses & Box Spring-  $20.00 fee. Pay at the Revenue Office.
Rugs   -  1 tag  -  rolled up & tied not over 25lbs.
Stereos - VCR's  -  1 tag

METAL/APPLIANCE BULK PICKUP   (limit 2 items)     

Bulk pickup is every Friday by appointment. Please call AWS at 1-800-248-8898 x 27 early in the week and listen to the recording. Give your name, address, telephone number and items to be picked up.

AC units - 1 tag
Appliances - 2 tags  (stoves, washers, dryers, dishwashers)    -    toaster oven, microwave  - 1 tag
Refrigerators - Freezers  (doors off)  -  2 tags           
Bathtubs, sinks ( cast iron) - 1 tag
Computers, monitors /TV's - 1 tag   -   fax machines, dehumidifiers  - 1 tag
Grills, lawn mowers  (fluids drained)  - 1 tag
Metal  - 1 tag   (exercise equip.  bikes, pipes, wheelbarrows, bed frames, file cabinets, aluminum gutters (in 3'  bundles not over 30#)
Tires (no other auto parts) - 1 tag
Waterheaters - 2 tags

RECYCLING     

The following items must be separated into two different containers and put curbside by 7 AM.

CONTAINER #1                                         
GLASS, METAL, & PLASTIC
( rinse  & place inside of bin )

Glass bottles and jars (neck rings and rims ok)
Metal food cans and foil.
Plastic  bottles and jars.

NO broken or other glass such as light bulbs, window, auto glass, dishes, glasses or  Pyrex is accepted.
NO paint or aerosol cans,
NO motor oil or chemical containers
NO  Styrofoam,  flower pots, toys or plastic bags.

CONTAINER #2:                                            
PAPER/CARDBOARD  
                               
May be put in a paper bag or separate bin:

Newspapers with inserts / mail / paper / magazines / catalogs / phone books / paperboard.
Milk and juice cartons, corrugated cardboard (flattened and bundled in 2 X 2 or smaller).
No soiled paper, plastic bags or cardboard (such as pizza take-out boxes).
                               
Recycling bins may be purchased  at the Highway Dept.,  70 Elm St.
Monday through Thursday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM  Tuesday Eve 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Friday, 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

               NO HAZARDOUS, TOXIC OR MEDICAL WASTE can go in the trash or recycling.   


DROP OFF RECYCLING

YARD WASTE: Leaves, grass, and brush (3” thick and up to 4 ft. long) may be taken to the compost area on Elm St. Call for operating hours. Stickers are required for residents at no charge. Landscapers need to register.

PAINT:  Mondays only (holidays excluded). Oil based paints, stains, varnishes, paint thinners (in containers more than ½ full), may be dropped off at the Highway Garage 7:30AM to 3:45PM April to November.

MOTOR OIL and oil filters may be dropped off at the Highway Garage, Monday thru Friday, 7:30AM to 3:45PM.
MERCURY ITEMS:   light bulbs, thermometers, tubes, fluorescents, etc
can be brought to the Highway Dept every Monday (holidays excluded)
7:30AM to 3:45PM - open all year.

BATTERIES:  (rechargeable) can be dropped off at the lower level of the library and town hall.

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE DAY is held every year in the spring.  Call for information.
